Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician – BAE Systems

Location: Maple Grove, MN
Work Arrangement: Onsite – Daily
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance

Position Summary
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to support its Pilot & Pre-Production Lines. The technician will perform electro-mechanical assembly of electronic products, support equipment, and ordnance products. The role requires the ability to read engineering drawings and sketches, follow written and verbal instructions, troubleshoot assembly issues, and support the transition of products into production.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly of electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
• Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical products using electrical assembly tools and hand tools.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
• Perform precision fabrication, assembly, and testing with a high degree of accuracy.
• Use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and meters.
• Generate test report data and document test results.
• Troubleshoot electronic and electro-mechanical systems and assembly issues.
• Support team members in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
• Assist with troubleshooting and transitioning products into production.
• Provide feedback to support design, fabrication, and testing improvements.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety and quality requirements.
• Work additional hours, including weekends, when required.
• Handle materials weighing up to 35 lbs.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools, and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Precision and fine motor skills for micro/nano-scale fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Knowledge of J-STD-001 requirements.
• Ability to conduct electronic testing using scopes, meters, and similar equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with near-zero-defect requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience troubleshooting electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience with Cirris and/or Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and J-STD-001 manufacturing and quality requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
• Basic understanding of GD&T.
• Experience providing technical feedback for design, fabrication, and test improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree, OR
• Minimum 2 years of technician experience performing related tasks in a production or prototype environment.

• 2 years of technician experience performing related tasks in a production or prototype environment.

Pay: $31.10 - $35.88 per hour

Work Location: In person
