Electrician

Job Summary

Responsible for carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation works for buildings, infrastructure, and construction projects.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, cables, conduits, cable trays, switches, sockets, lighting fixtures, and distribution boards.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and layout plans.
• Perform cable pulling, termination, jointing, dressing, and proper identification of cables.
• Install and connect electrical equipment and accessories as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct electrical testing and inspections using appropriate testing equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults, short circuits, power failures, and equipment malfunctions.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure proper earthing and bonding of electrical installations.
• Check electrical materials, tools, and equipment before use and report any defects or shortages.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure smooth execution of electrical works.
• Ensure all electrical works are completed in accordance with approved standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and keep work areas, tools, and electrical installations safe and organized.
• Follow all company and project-specific health, safety, and environmental requirements, including safe isolation and lockout/tagout procedures where applicable.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma, ITI, or relevant technical qualification in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Trade.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience as an Electrician, preferably in construction or contracting projects.
• Good knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices and safe working procedures.
• Ability to use electrical testing instruments and hand/power tools safely.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, and other site personnel.
• UAE/GCC construction experience will be an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
