Electrician

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will assist with electrical maintenance across sawmilling plant, machinery and buildings, support new or upgraded equipment installations, and provide technical backup where required. The role includes, helping identify improvements to existing plant, and supporting Claymark’s commitment to quality, health and safety, and high standards of site presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and install electrical equipment and systems across the Te Kuiti site.
• Assist with installation, handover, training and technical support for new or upgraded equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of plant, equipment, buildings and the wider site environment.
• Work in line with company health and safety policies, operating procedures and quality standards.
• Participate in toolbox meetings and work collaboratively with site teams, maintenance engineers, operators and supervisors.

About you

• NZ Electrical Registration and current practising certificate
• PLC experience would be an advantage.
• Experience with sawmill scanning technology would be beneficial.
• Good physical fitness and a practical, mechanically minded approach.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and time management skills.
• A positive attitude, strong attention to detail and ability to work well with others.
