Electrician

Position Summary

SoTech Automation & electric is seeking an experienced Electrician with Industrial Electrical & Instrumentation (I&E) and commercial experience to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and commercial construction or maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform electrical work in commercial and industrial facilities.
• Install and maintain conduit, cable tray, wiring, panels, disconnects, transformers, and control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical, instrumentation, and control drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Perform I&E installation, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot motors, starters, VFDs, control circuits, and electrical distribution systems.
• Install and terminate instrumentation wiring and control devices.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and company procedures.
• Work safely around energized equipment and industrial systems while following proper lockout/tagout procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors, technicians, engineers, and other trades as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and equipment conditions.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in Industrial Electrical & Instrumentation (I&E) and commercial electrical work.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 8-hour training required.
• Current TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required.
• NFPA 70E training/certification required.
• Must be willing to travel to job sites within the region.
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Experience

• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation drawings.
• Experience with conduit installation, wire pulling, cable tray, terminations, panels, disconnects, and control systems.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements and safe electrical work practices.
• Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and energized electrical work procedures.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in commercial and industrial environments.
