About the role

Central Electrical Services is seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is based in Wellington CBD, Wellington, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality electrical services to our diverse client base. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This role is fundamental to our operations and directly contributes to our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction in the electrical services industry.

What you'll be doing

• Installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems and equipment in accordance with relevant codes and standards
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults and failures, providing prompt and effective solutions
• Performing routine maintenance and repair work on electrical installations and systems
• Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Liaising with clients to understand their electrical requirements and providing professional advice
• Maintaining detailed records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on projects
• Working collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members on site
• Keeping up to date with the latest electrical practices, technologies, and regulatory changes

What we're looking for

• A valid electrical licence recognised in New Zealand, demonstrating your qualification and competency
• Proven experience working as an Electrician in commercial, industrial, or residential settings
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuitry, and safety protocols
• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
• A commitment to health and safety practices, including a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional approach to work
• Physical fitness and the ability to work in varied environments and conditions
• A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different job sites within the Wellington region
