Electrician

Job Summary

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the hotel's electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operations. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, back-of-house areas, and other hotel facilities, while maintaining guest comfort and complying with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, and electrical equipment throughout the hotel.
• Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and attend to maintenance requests and guest room complaints promptly.
• Maintain and repair electrical panels, distribution boards, circuit breakers, contactors, and related components.
• Assist emergency lighting, and other essential electrical equipment.
• Inspect and maintain electrical equipment in guest rooms, restaurants, kitchens, offices, corridors, and public areas.
• Respond promptly to engineering work orders and emergency maintenance calls.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, hotel standards, and applicable local regulations.
• Use electrical tools and testing instruments safely and correctly.
• Coordinate with other engineering team members and external contractors when required.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and completed work orders.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Report major faults, equipment failures, and potential safety hazards to the respective in charge
• Perform other duties assigned by the Department head.

Qualifications and Requirements

• ITI, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.
• Previous experience as an Electrician in a hotel, preferably in a 4-star or 5-star property, is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of electrical installations, wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Familiarity with electrical panels, distribution boards, circuit breakers, and testing equipment.
• Understanding of electrical safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Ability to attend maintenance requests promptly and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by hotel operations.
• Candidates with UAE experience or relevant experience in their home country are welcome.

Pay: AED1,300.00 - AED1,800.00 per month
