Electrician

Job Purpose

The role involves working on electrical contracts within a range of properties owned and managed by ng homes, delivering all projects and commercial contracts on time and within pre-set budgets.

You will provide high-quality electrical services to support maintenance projects for ng2 Ltd on behalf of ng homes.

The main duties of this post will include:

Work on a range of planned and reactive electrical projects for ng homes properties

Deliver cost-effective high-quality electrical projects within the agreed timescales as directed by the Multi-Trade Manager

Work collaboratively with other trades staff to ensure that multi-trade projects are completed in line with timescales, ensuring that any delays are communicated to the Multi-Trade Manager

Deliver a range of commercial contracts, adhering to quality standards

Provide reports in relation to contracts and duties as required

Ensure all duties are carried out in a safe and professional manner

Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety legislation, taking full responsibility for Risk Assessments and Method Statements

Escalate any health and safety or quality issues to the Multi-Trade Manager where required

Undertake administrative duties as required to support a safe, professional and efficient standard within the department and provide necessary auditing

Complete time sheets and other associated paperwork accurately, including on any digital platforms.

Maintain accurate records using provided systems (PDA)

Take a lead role in the ongoing safety checks of the company vehicle provided, ensuring that any defects or issues are escalated immediately

Responsible for conducting daily safety and condition checks of all work tools, machinery and equipment including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and access equipment (ladders etc)

Contribute to the continuous improvement, growth and development of contracts and ng2

Be committed to learning and development and support new staff and any apprentices with training where required

Undertake any other duties as required by the company to accomplish its business

Ensuring your own safety and that of colleagues and members of the public at all times.

Experience Essential Criteria
· Electrical installations/works in accordance with BS7671

· Inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems

· Fault investigation and rectification

Experience Desirable Criteria
· Experience of working directly with a housing association / social landlord.

Skills & Abilities Essential Criteria
· Possess good communication skills.

· Liaising with clients/tenants

· Ability to prioritise a varied workload and work to tight deadlines.

· Good planning and organisational skills.

· Ability to work to targets and achieve deadlines.

· Able to carry out work in line with environmental and health and safety regulations.

Skills & Abilities Desirable Criteria

• Able to work with a wide range of colleagues in a fast-moving work environment.

Qualifications & Knowledge Essential Criteria

· Time served electrician to SVQ level 3 or equivalent

· 18th Edition wiring regulations

· ECS/CSCS Grading card (gold)

Qualifications & Knowledge Desirable Criteria

2391 inspection and testing

Hold a full, current UK driving licence.

Pay: £23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
