Electrician – Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing operations. The role ensures that all electrical equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance – Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, production machines, motors, control panels, and other manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Repair – Diagnose electrical faults and repair defective wiring, circuits, sensors, switches, relays, and other electrical components.
• Equipment Installation – Install, connect, and test electrical wiring, machines, motors, and control systems according to technical specifications.
• Preventive Maintenance – Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to prevent equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
• Machine Support – Assist production personnel in resolving electrical problems affecting manufacturing processes.
• Electrical Testing – Use electrical testing instruments, such as multimeters and clamp meters, to identify faults and verify equipment performance.
• Safety Compliance – Follow electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable occupational safety regulations.
• Control System Maintenance – Inspect and troubleshoot motor controls, contactors, relays, sensors, and basic PLC-controlled equipment as required.
• Documentation – Record maintenance activities, equipment breakdowns, repairs, and inspection results.
• Spare Parts Management – Monitor electrical spare parts and report the need for replacement components and maintenance supplies.
• Continuous Improvement – Recommend improvements to electrical systems to enhance machine reliability, energy efficiency, and production performance.
• Team Coordination – Coordinate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production staff to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical course.
• Relevant experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, wiring diagrams, and control circuits.
• Familiarity with electrical testing instruments and troubleshooting techniques.
• Knowledge of workplace electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Willingness to work on shifting schedules, overtime, or emergency repairs when required.
• Relevant TESDA certification or electrical qualifications are an advantage; any required license or certification must match the assigned duties.
