What they need
About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated Electro-magnetics Motor Designer to join our R&D team. This role is explicitly designed for a strong technical professional - likely with a background in high-power systems or applied physics, who is eager to learn and grow to master electric motor design and become an expert in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Simulation & Design: Conduct Electro-Magnetic (EM) simulations to develop entirely new motor architectures and create optimized variants of our existing motors.
- Innovation & Research: Drive the technological advancement of our products by spearheading independent and collaborative research activities.
- Testing & Validation: Plan physical tests, define testing methodologies, and thoroughly analyze test results to validate your simulation models.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers within the R&D department on both internal technology development and direct customer projects.
- Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert to support broader company stakeholders, providing technical insights to business development, marketing, and strategy teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering (focus on high-power/power electronics is a plus), Physics, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant technical or engineering role.
- Adaptability & Growth: Exceptional learning agility. You must possess the foundational physics/engineering knowledge and the drive to quickly learn the specific domain of EM motor design during your first 6 months.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for translating physical phenomena into mathematical/simulation models.
- Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Haves (Not Required)
- Previous experience in the automotive industry or direct experience with electric motors.
- Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation software (e.g., Ansys Maxwell, Altair Flux, JMAG, or similar tools).
