A day in the life
Your evening begins by reviewing the production schedule and scanning into your first work order using our computer and scanning systems. With blueprints, bills of materials, and one line diagrams at your station, you’ll assemble and modify electromechanical equipment—think switchboards, lighting panels, and related components.
As you move from subassembly to final build, you’ll fasten component parts to cubicles or frames and complete unit assemblies. You’ll scan out of one work order and into the next to keep up with standard and expedited jobs. Throughout your shift, you’ll keep tools organized, equipment operating, and your area clean to maintain safe working conditions.
This is hands-on work that requires standing for 10–12 hours, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and occasionally sliding heavy materials up to 50 lbs, along with bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, and climbing as tasks demand.
