About our company

Vyrian is an award-winning global provider of semiconductor/computer components, engineering lab services and data solutions. We specialize in reducing costs and accelerating our customers' time-to-market by offering a unique blend of independent and authorized distribution services that support all stages of the product lifecycle. Our mission is to deliver sealed, new, and original components from the world's top manufacturers directly to our clients, as well as sourcing high-quality obsolete components to meet shortages and end-of-life procurement needs.

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Quality Control Technician to join our technical team in Southwest Houston. In this role, you will execute the quality control and testing procedures that verify the components we trade meet our quality and reliability standards. Working from established protocols and test plans, you will set up and run tests, operate and maintain testing equipment, and accurately record and report results. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and takes pride in producing accurate, consistent results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Execution: Set up and run quality control tests on electronic components following established test plans and protocols, confirming functionality and compliance with quality standards.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate test jigs, fixtures, and measurement instruments used for electronic components according to defined procedures, including dynamic and temperature-based testing where required.
  • Tool & Equipment Upkeep: Organize, calibrate, and maintain the testing tools and equipment used for electronic component testing so they stay ready, accurate, and in working order.
  • Data Recording & Reporting: Accurately collect, log, and report test results for electronic components, flagging any parts that fail or fall outside acceptance criteria.
  • Component Handling & Inspection: Perform visual and mechanical inspection of electronic components, and handle, label, and store parts in line with quality and ESD procedures.
  • Team Support: Work closely with the quality assurance and engineering teams, carrying out their electronic component test instructions and raising issues or anomalies as they come up.
  • Standards Compliance: Follow all quality, safety, and ESD procedures for handling electronic components consistently, keeping the work area and documentation in order.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant technical diploma (electronics, electrical, instrumentation, quality control, or a related technical field).
  • At least 2 years of hands-on quality control experience in the electronic components, electrical, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries.
  • Practical experience setting up and running tests, operating test and measurement equipment, and recording results.
  • Ability to follow written test protocols, work plans, and quality procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and good record-keeping habits.
  • Permanent right to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing or inspecting semiconductor or active electronic components.
  • Familiarity with quality management standards such as AS9120, AS6081, or ANSI/ESD S20.20.
  • Experience in a global company or a high-volume distribution/trading environment.
  • Basic familiarity with data entry tools or test-logging software.

Schedule & Location

This is an on-site, office-based role in Southwest Houston, Texas. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Extra hours are required, including working on weekends, to meet operational and testing demands.

Why join Vyrian

  • Innovative Environment: Be part of a team that's revolutionizing supply chain solutions with cutting-edge technology and data-driven strategies.
  • Professional Growth: Work alongside experienced technicians and engineers, with opportunities for continuous learning and development.
  • Global Impact: Contribute to projects that have a worldwide reach, supporting some of the leading technology innovators.
  • Community Engagement: Join a company that values social responsibility and actively participates in community empowerment initiatives.
