What they need
Why Southco?
Southco is a stable, growing company that's family owned and employee owned. Through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), every employee has an ownership stake in the business. Health insurance starts on your first day, with no 30-, 60-, or 90-day wait. And 84% of our employees stay with us.
About the role
As our North America EDI Analyst, you'll be the go-to EDI expert for Southco's customers across the region. You'll troubleshoot transaction issues, support new customer implementations, and find and eliminate the root causes of recurring problems.
Your main goal is simple and measurable: a sustained reduction in failed and errored EDI transactions across North America. You'll work with a high degree of autonomy and partner closely with our Sr. EDI Specialist. You'll also work with Customer Service, IT, Supply Chain, and customers to make sure fixes really stick.
What you'll do
- Reduce EDI failures by finding root causes of processing errors and putting lasting fixes, controls, and best practices in place.
- Lead customer implementations by interpreting customer EDI specs and working with EDI/IT teams to develop and test inbound and outbound maps.
- Be a trusted partner to customers by resolving failed transactions, clarifying requirements, and onboarding new EDI trading partners.
- Drive automation by identifying high-volume manual accounts and moving them to EDI.
- Eliminate IDoc failures by monitoring and troubleshooting SAP IDoc issues and making sure fixes address the underlying cause.
- Build team expertise by supporting Customer Service reps on strategic accounts and maintaining troubleshooting guides.
- Lead process improvement by defining requirements, testing system changes, and shaping master data standards and SAP data rules.
- Collaborate globally with EDI counterparts in other regions so EDI practices stay consistent worldwide.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1–5 years of experience in EDI, ERP processes, order management, customer service, or supply chain.
- Hands-on SAP experience, including IDoc processing and order management.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Salesforce and reporting tools is a plus.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people and create training materials.
Nice to have
- Experience with EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT), EDI translators, and managed service providers.
- Experience onboarding new customers to EDI.
