What they need
Electronic Security Support Engineer Aotea Security, Enterprise Support Team
Love solving technical problems? Want to work on the security systems behind some of New Zealand's biggest banks, government departments and enterprise clients? Join our Enterprise Support team.
Aotea Security is one of New Zealand's leading electronic security providers. Our Enterprise Support team keeps our clients' systems running every day, nationwide.
About the role
This is a support-first role. You will be the person technicians and clients rely on to keep systems running and problems solved. Alongside that, you will administer and configure electronic security platforms such as access control and CCTV. Please note this is not a general IT infrastructure role.
- Full-time, office-based, standard business hours
- Based in Auckland ideally, but we have offices across New Zealand, and the right applicant can work from their nearest one
- Rostered on-call, typically one week in four, as part of the team roster
Experienced applicants who can hit the ground running are preferred. If you are earlier in your career but have strong technical aptitude, we would still like to hear from you. Responsibilities will be matched to your experience.
We are looking for people who take ownership and go the extra mile. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Provide remote technical support to field technicians and national clients
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve security system issues
- Manage tickets, escalations and system changes
- Administer, configure and programme electronic security platforms
- Support data, documentation and asset management
- Work with senior support staff and national project teams
- Contribute to improvement initiatives and national projects
What we're looking for
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Clear, confident communication
- Calm under pressure, able to juggle multiple calls and priorities without missing a beat
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- A drive to go above and beyond. You take ownership and are never satisfied with "good enough"
- A genuine interest in learning and growing
- Hands-on experience with electronic security systems (strongly preferred)
Experience with any of these is a big advantage
- Access control and intruder: Gallagher, Integriti/Tecom, ICT Protege GX/WX
- CCTV: Milestone, WAVE/NX, March Networks, Genetec, Avigilon, Geutebrück
- Intercoms: Jacques, 2N, Aiphone
- Networking: Cisco, Allied Telesis
- IT: Windows, Windows Server, virtual machines and networking
- Help desk or technical support, ideally in a busy, high-volume environment
- Other electronic security systems
What's on offer
- Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
- Overtime rates and on-call allowance
- Laptop and phone provided
- Full training on AroFlo, Zendesk and our core systems
- Funded vendor certifications to build your expertise
- A supportive national team with real room to grow
Requirements
- Have or be able to obtain a Certificate of Approval (CoA) for security work
