What they need

About Zadar Labs

Zadar Labs is a leading perception sensor and perception solutions company serving robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, mobility, and smart infrastructure. We help robots, vehicles, and intelligent machines understand their surroundings and operate reliably in complex, unpredictable environments.

We work directly with customers deploying real systems in vehicles, robotics platforms, industrial sites, ports, logistics hubs, and other complex operating environments. Our hardware deployments are scaling rapidly, and you will play a key role on our hardware team.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Assembly Technician & Inventory Coordinator to assemble Zadar perception sensor products and maintain accurate, organized inventory.

This role combines electronics assembly, established production testing, receiving, incoming inspection, and build kitting. You will follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), document your work, and keep management informed about inventory levels, shortages, and material issues.

The ideal candidate has prior electronics assembly experience, reliable through-hole soldering skills, and strong attention to detail. You should be comfortable following detailed instructions, handling small components, keeping accurate records, and raising questions when something falls outside the documented process. No college degree is required.

This is a part-time, onsite role in Campbell, California, starting at 20 hours per week, with the potential to transition to full-time as the company grows.

HOURLY PAY: $28–$35 per hour

What You’ll Do Sensor Assembly and Soldering

  • Assemble perception sensor units and subassemblies according to released SOPs, assembly drawings, and work instructions
  • Perform through-hole soldering, checking solder joints against documented workmanship criteria
  • Install PCBAs, connectors, hardware, and enclosure components using specified tools and assembly methods
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, orientations, and revisions before and during assembly
  • Follow ESD precautions and maintain a clean, organized assembly workspace
  • Record build completion, component usage, and product identifiers as required by the production process

Production Testing and Quality

  • Run established programming, calibration, and production test procedures using provided equipment and software
  • Record test results and inspect completed assemblies against documented acceptance criteria
  • Flag failed tests, defects, unclear instructions, and anything outside the SOP; hold affected units for engineering or management review before proceeding

Receiving, Inventory, and Build Kitting

  • Receive incoming materials and verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation against purchasing records
  • Perform incoming inspection according to established criteria and flag damage, discrepancies, or nonconforming material
  • Organize and label stock locations, keeping parts, assemblies, and finished units identifiable and properly protected
  • Prepare build kits using approved BOMs and work instructions, verifying quantities and revisions
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for receipts, material movements, build consumption, and completed assemblies; perform periodic counts and report discrepancies

Inventory Reporting and Process Support

  • Advise management on stock levels, shortages, replenishment needs, and material issues that could affect builds
  • Communicate receiving discrepancies and supplier quality concerns to management for follow-up
  • Suggest practical improvements to stock organization, kitting, and assembly instructions based on day-to-day work

What We’re Looking For Core Requirements

  • Prior hands-on experience in electronics assembly or electronics manufacturing
  • Demonstrated through-hole soldering skills and the ability to produce consistent, clean workmanship
  • Strong attention to detail when handling small components, inspecting assemblies, and recording inventory
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, assembly drawings, parts lists, and written test instructions
  • Comfort using hand tools, soldering equipment, and computers for established test workflows and recordkeeping
  • Dependability, careful material handling, and clear communication when instructions, materials, or test results do not match expectations

Additional Relevant Experience

  • The following experience is helpful, but not required:
  • Fine-pitch SMT soldering and rework
  • Receiving, incoming inspection, stockroom organization, inventory tracking, or build kitting
  • Spreadsheets, barcode systems, or inventory management software
  • ESD-safe handling and electronics workmanship standards
  • IPC training or certification related to electronics assembly and soldering

Communication and Ownership

  • Take ownership of assembly quality, accurate records, and organized inventory
  • Communicate build status, material shortages, and quality concerns promptly to management
  • Follow approved procedures consistently and ask for clarification before making changes
  • Work closely with engineering and operations as an individual contributor

Logistics

  • Onsite work at our Campbell, California headquarters
  • Part-time: 20 hours per week to start ( workdays and start/end times agreed in advance)
  • No college degree required

Growth Opportunity

As Zadar grows, this role offers opportunities to:

  • Transition to full-time employment as business needs and mutual interest align
  • Develop assembly and production testing skills across additional perception sensor products
  • Help improve inventory accuracy, stock organization, and build preparation

Why Zadar

  • Work on systems that ship and deploy at global scale
  • Direct impact on product quality and reliable customer deliveries
  • Small, focused team with fast execution

Full-time conversion will depend on company growth and staffing needs.
