Electronics Design Engineer – Power Electronics & HV

£65,000 - £70,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits | South East London

We're looking for an Electronics Design Engineer with solid hands-on experience in hardware design and a track record of taking products from initial concept through to manufacture .

Whether your experience is at 500V or several kilovolts , we're interested in engineers who understand the principles of high-voltage design and enjoy tackling technically challenging problems.

The Role

Working within a multidisciplinary R&D team, you'll be responsible for the design, development and validation of electronic hardware , supporting products throughout the complete engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop analogue and digital electronic hardware .
• Take products through the full design lifecycle , from concept and simulation through to prototyping, testing, qualification and industrialisation.
• Produce schematics, technical documentation and test specifications .
• Support EMC, environmental and product validation testing .
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Production teams to support successful NPI and product introduction .
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to ongoing product development.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and support the resolution of design and production challenges.

About You

You'll ideally have:

• A degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Mid-level experience in electronics hardware design and development .
• Experience taking electronic products through the complete design lifecycle .
• Practical knowledge of power electronics, power supplies and/or DC-DC converters .
• Experience with PCB design and simulation tools such as Altium, Zuken, PSpice or LTspice .
• Experience supporting EMC testing and product qualification .

Desirable Experience

• High-voltage electronics , ideally around 500V+.
• Closed-loop control systems .
• Knowledge of IEC 62368-1 or similar electrical/electronic safety standards.
