Electronics Technician

About the role

Ideal Data Automation (M) Sdn Bhd, a respected equipment supplier to the semiconductor manufacturing industry, based in Penang with office in Johore Bahru, is looking for skilled and motivated Electronics Technicians to join our growing team at both our regional offices. You will play a key role in our assembly, testing, and troubleshooting operations, ensuring the quality and reliability of our electronic products and systems. Fresh graduates with the right technical foundation are welcome to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic components, circuit boards, and devices according to technical specifications and product samples
• Perform quality control tests to ensure assembled units meet industry and company standards
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults using multi-meters and diagnostic equipment
• Maintain and calibrate electronic testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Document work performed including test results, service reports, stock levels, and OT records
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised work environment at both iDA office and customer sites
• Support the training and development of junior technicians as required
• Occasional domestic and international travel may be required (1–2 weeks at a time)

About you

• Recognised qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Diploma or equivalent)
• Fresh graduates are welcome; prior experience in electronics assembly or a manufacturing environment is an advantage
• Sound knowledge of electronic circuits, component identification, and circuit board assembly techniques
• Proficient in using electronic testing equipment, power tools, and hand tools
• Able to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
• Holds a valid Driver's License (Class D)
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally when required
