Electronics Technician

As an electronics Technician you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining faulty electronic components and systems, as well as assembling new electronic boards. Your role requires hands-on experience with electronic systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Roles and Responsibilities Electronic Repair ● Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty electronic components, PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards), and systems. ● Perform repairs on electronic assemblies, including soldering, component replacement, and circuit modification. ● Test and validate repaired electronics to ensure proper functionality and reliability. ● Document repair procedures, findings, and test results for each repair task. Assembly of New Boards ● Assemble new electronic boards following detailed schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions. ● Solder electronic components onto PCBs, ensuring high-quality connections and adherence to assembly standards. ● Perform inspections and quality checks on assembled boards to ensure compliance with design specifications. ● Collaborate with the engineering team to improve assembly processes and resolve issues. Maintenance and Calibration ● Perform routine maintenance and calibration of tools and equipment used in repair and assembly tasks. ● Ensure that workstations are kept organized, clean, and stocked with necessary components and tools. Documentation and Reporting ● Maintain accurate records of repairs, assemblies, and testing results. ● Report recurring faults or issues to the engineering team for further investigation and resolution. ● Assist in creating and updating technical documentation, including repair guides and assembly instructions. Continuous Improvement ● Participate in training and development activities to stay updated on the latest electronics repair techniques and technologies. ● Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency gains. Additional Duties: ● Perform additional duties as required or undertake other assignments as delegated by your line manager.

Qualifications and Skills: ● Associate degree or diploma in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. ● Relevant certifications in electronics repair, soldering, or PCB assembly are advantageous. ● Minimum of [2-4] years of hands-on experience in repairing electronic components and assembling PCBs. ● Proven experience with soldering, desoldering, and working with various electronic components and tools. ● Familiarity with testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers. ● Strong proficiency in soldering, including surface-mount and through-hole components. ● Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation. ● Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems. ● Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection and safe handling practices for electronic components. ● Strong attention to detail and precision in performing repair and assembly tasks. ● Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex electronic issues. ● Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document work accurately. ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
