You will work with the company’s project team, clients, suppliers and appropriately qualified tradespeople to deliver reliable equipment operation alongside our interior improvement projects.

Detailed responsibilities

  1. Inspect refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioning units, heat pumps and related equipment to identify electronic faults and operating problems.

  5. Repair or replace defective electronic components, circuit boards, connectors and control modules in accordance with manufacturer requirements and the technician’s authorised scope of work.

  6. Inspect and troubleshoot temperature sensors, thermostats, electronic timers and defrost controls used in refrigeration equipment.

  7. Diagnose electronic control faults affecting cooling cycles, temperature regulation, fan operation and compressor operation.

  8. Configure and test air-conditioning and heat-pump controllers, remote controls, operating modes, timers and temperature settings.

  9. Investigate equipment error codes, intermittent faults and communication problems between indoor units, outdoor units and control systems.

  10. Assemble, mount and configure electronic control equipment and associated components for new or replacement systems, within the technician’s authorised scope.

  11. Test repaired equipment through appropriate operating cycles to verify that the reported fault has been resolved.

  12. Carry out preventive maintenance of electronic components, including inspections, cleaning and checks for deterioration, overheating or loose connections.

  13. Assess component condition and recommend repairs, replacement parts or equipment upgrades to improve reliability and performance.

  14. Support the diagnosis and servicing of other electronically controlled appliances, ventilation equipment and interior control systems used on company projects.

  15. Coordinate with refrigeration technicians, electricians and other specialist trades where work requires additional expertise or authorisation.

  16. Assist with commissioning by checking control settings, sensor responses, operating sequences and equipment performance.

  17. Maintain accurate service records covering faults, diagnostic results, repairs, parts used and outstanding work.

  18. Identify required replacement components, obtain technical information from suppliers and assist with ordering and stock control.

  19. Explain equipment operation, maintenance needs and repair findings clearly to clients and the company’s project team.

  20. Follow safe isolation procedures, manufacturer instructions and site safety requirements; protect finished interiors and leave work areas clean and tidy.
