ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating the mill at peak efficiency and specifications.
• Perform maintenance on the mill and all elevator equipment in accordance with the facility’s preventative maintenance program
• Perform repairs as needed on the mill and elevator equipment to ensure consistent and timely operations of delivery and distribution of grain; employees will be required to work on elevated equipment, so fear of heights is a consideration
• Monitor equipment performance and report malfunctions or potential issues to supervisors
• Assist with the loading and unloading of commodities during seasonally busy periods
• Perform housekeeping duties including power washing, sweeping, and shoveling of grain bins and other related facilities
• Operate grain elevator equipment and receive incoming commodities
• Assist in inspecting and monitoring commodity quality
• Maintain a professional attitude with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Follow any and all company safety policies and report unsafe conditions to supervisors
• Fill in for fellow employees on an as needed basis
• Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICIATIONS:

• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Have the ability to work in a team setting as well as work independently
• Some knowledge of mechanical systems
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Prior experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment required.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Prior grain elevator millwright experience preferred
