Authentic Elevator Services is seeking an experienced Elevator Maintenance Mechanic with 4+ years of elevator maintenance experience to join our Operations Department.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair traction and hydraulic elevator systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components.
• Respond to service calls, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and restore safe operation.
• Inspect wiring and components, replace worn or defective parts, and test electrical systems.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and technical support to resolve complex problems.
• Document service work and communicate findings clearly.
• Travel throughout all five NYC boroughs, Long Island, and Westchester.
• Respond to periodic after-hours emergency callbacks and perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 4 years of elevator maintenance experience
• Hands-on experience with traction and hydraulic systems
• Strong understanding of elevator components, functions, and control systems
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and NYC elevator code
• Reliable, professional work habits and pride in quality workmanship
• Strong written communication, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team in a busy service environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Availability for travel throughout the service area and after-hours work when required
• Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements, including lifting up to 100 lbs and pushing a weight test car of up to 500 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• QEI certification or NYC DOB Inspector License
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
