Elevator Technician

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of a vocational course in Electrical, Electronic, or Electromechanical Technology
• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial elevator maintenance and emergency repair
• Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts, Sundays, and holidays as required
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, power load testing, and elevator safety codes

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate elevators under test conditions to measure electrical current draw, analyze power demands, and ensure equipment does not exceed safe load factors.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical components—including hoistways, motor rooms, call buttons, and safety brakes—for signs of wear or malfunction.
• Plan and execute weekly, monthly, and annual PM schedules to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.
• Safely troubleshoot complex electrical control panels, relay logic, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
