Elevator Technician

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Elevator Technician to join our company in the Houston and Galveston area in this role, your duties will range from installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining elevator and escalator systems. Your expertise will ensure the safe, reliable operation of elevators, escalators, and lift systems, supporting our commitment to safety and operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain elevator systems including hydraulic, traction, and machine-room-less (MRL) elevators using schematics and electrical blueprints.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on elevators and related machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
• Diagnose electrical issues using electrical diagnostics tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and low voltage testers; perform repairs on high voltage systems safely.
• Read and interpret technical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic system layouts, and engineering troubleshooting manuals for precise repairs.
• Operate precision measuring instruments and welding equipment—including welding techniques—to repair structural components or modify parts as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities work orders, inspections, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards related to code driven requirements, electrical work and mechanical standards
• Share field service knowledge by providing technical assistance on-site or remotely to resolve complex issues efficiently.
• Collaborate with teams and supervision to analyze system failures and implement long-term solutions that enhance reliability.

Skills

• Experience working on and with various equipment types manufacturing with an understanding of necessary practices.
• Proficiency in electrical diagnostics including schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical control panels.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, schematics tools
• Ability to operate other lifting tools properly and safely during installation or repair tasks.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills in English; capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical clients
• Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), electrical blueprints, engineering troubleshooting manuals, and schematics.
• Knowledge of low voltage systems as well as high voltage safety procedures; experience working in electrician roles is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex elevator control systems involving electrical components, hydraulic mechanisms, mechanical parts, and safety devices.

Pay: $32.00 - $48.00 per hour
