ELV Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer (ELV) is responsible for generating the sequence of operation and system architectures of onsite facilities control and monitoring systems. As a subject matter expert on all ELV systems for all facilities, you will provide technical proposals and recommendations, ensuring systems are functioning as per design intent and operational readiness. The position requires strong critical environment technical skills and routinely conducting hands-on operations and inspection work on a variety of critical facility systems and equipment in an operating critical environment. You will be responsible for protecting and improving the value of assets and ensuring critical engineering systems reliably perform their intended function.

Key responsibilities

• Generate sequence of operation and system architectures of onsite facilities control and monitoring systems
• Review onsite system architectures and as-built documentations, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records
• Provide technical proposals and recommendations as subject matter expert on ELV systems
• Work closely with project team and onsite team members for system integrations and improvements, participate in commissioning activities
• Liaise with overseas vendors for system works, technical discussions, and system improvement/upgrades
• Develop and implement BMS system related policies, procedures, best practices and standards
• Create standards for maintenance procedures and checklists, ensuring scalability and sustainability
• Perform day-to-day maintenance and inspection of assigned critical environment systems including mechanical, electrical, cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control, building management systems, and digital systems
• Supervise and sign-off maintained equipment/systems completed by maintenance vendors or OEM vendors
• Process Change Control Application for safe and compliant operation, maintenance, and modification of critical equipment
• Perform role of technical support onsite, guiding team members on first level fault analysis
• Provide on-the-job training and technical support to engineers and technicians
• Monitor critical spare parts inventory levels to support continuous operation
• Deliver all maintenance tasks in compliance with customer service level agreements
• Monitor work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance on critical systems
• Develop safe maintenance Change Control Applications and ensure implementation of work method statements including LOTO procedures
• Perform all work safely in accordance with governing Safety Program and company policy
• Implement SOP and ERP with in-depth understanding of critical systems and facilities
• Update tools and supply inventories, including preparing purchase-order requests
• Identify safety hazards within the critical environment and ensure compliance with safety work rules
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines related to operation of building infrastructure

About you

• Proficient in English through all mediums of communication
• Ability to write and review good quality detailed work scripts, methods of procedure, and standard operating procedures
• Good knowledge of all laws that govern building management and maintenance, including building safety, emergency evacuation and environment protection
• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Data Centre environment or Hi-tech factory/plant (e.g., semi-conductor)
• Technical knowledge with hands-on knowledge and experience and understanding of critical data center systems, including HVAC, Standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure
• Proficient in computer applications and software, including commercial computerized maintenance management systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
