ELV Technician – CCTV, Gate Barriers & Security Systems

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced ELV Technician who can independently install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CCTV systems, gate barriers, access control systems, intercom systems, and other low-voltage security systems.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on technical knowledge and be able to diagnose faults quickly, carry out repairs, replace defective components, configure systems, and perform preventive maintenance at residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain CCTV surveillance systems.
• Diagnose CCTV camera, DVR, NVR, cabling, power supply, networking, and recording issues.
• Install and repair automatic gate barriers and boom barriers.
• Troubleshoot barrier motors, control boards, sensors, loops, remotes, photocells, and safety devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain access control systems.
• Work with biometric readers, card readers, magnetic locks, electric strikes, exit buttons, and door controllers.
• Install and troubleshoot video/audio intercom systems.
• Perform structured cabling, CAT6, coaxial cabling, termination, testing, and fault finding.
• Configure IP cameras, NVRs, switches, routers, and basic network settings.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and attend emergency breakdown calls.
• Identify defective equipment and recommend suitable repair or replacement.
• Maintain service reports and document completed maintenance work.
• Ensure all installations are neat, safe, and completed according to technical standards.
• Coordinate with clients, supervisors, suppliers, and other technicians when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on ELV/security system experience in the UAE or GCC preferred.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV installation and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with gate barriers / boom barriers.
• Experience with access control and security systems.
• Knowledge of IP-based and analog CCTV systems.
• Good understanding of DVR, NVR, IP cameras, switches, routers, and network cabling.
• Ability to use multimeters, cable testers, crimping tools, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to identify electrical and electronic faults in ELV equipment.
• Ability to work independently and resolve technical issues at site.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on ladders and at installation sites.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will have an advantage:

• Intrusion alarm systems
• Structured cabling
• Network troubleshooting
• Preventive maintenance of ELV systems

Requirements

• Diploma / ITI / technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, or related field preferred.
• UAE experience preferred.
• UAE Driving Licence is an advantage.
• Candidates who can join immediately will be preferred.

What We Are Looking For

We need a hands-on technician, not only an installer. The candidate must be capable of attending an existing system, identifying the fault, repairing it, replacing components where necessary, and getting the system operational again.
