ELV Technician – Qatar

Position Title: ELV Technician

Position Overview

Parkonic is looking for a skilled and hands-on ELV Technician to support the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and day-to-day technical support of Parkonic’s smart parking and access control solutions across Qatar.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that all ELV and smart parking equipment is installed and maintained to the required technical, operational, and safety standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Management, Operations, and Technical teams to ensure high system availability and reliable site performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of Parkonic’s smart parking and ELV systems.
• Install, terminate, configure, test, and troubleshoot LPR/ANPR cameras, automated gate barriers, access control systems, intercoms, payment terminals, PA systems, CCTV, and structured cabling.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, connectivity, wiring, power, and communication-related faults across deployed systems.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections to identify potential equipment failures and ensure system reliability.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, emergency maintenance requests, and technical incidents at operational sites.
• Carry out testing and commissioning of newly installed equipment and ensure systems are fully operational prior to handover.
• Read and interpret ELV, electrical, network, and system drawings/schematics to support installation and troubleshooting activities.
• Perform cable pulling, termination, dressing, labeling, testing, and basic network connectivity checks.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and other technical personnel during installation and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, installation records, and equipment documentation.
• Escalate recurring or complex technical issues to the Project Manager or Technical Engineer and support resolution where required.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, HSE requirements, and Parkonic quality standards.
• Maintain professional conduct when working at client sites and ensure minimal disruption to site operations.
• Support the Technical and Operations teams during new site mobilization, go-live, and post-launch stabilization activities.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and contribute to the continuous improvement of Parkonic’s technical and operational processes.

Requirements

• Diploma or technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, ELV, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in ELV, access control, security systems, smart parking, or low-voltage systems.
• Practical experience with automated barriers, LPR/ANPR cameras, access control, CCTV, intercoms, PA systems, payment terminals, and structured cabling.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret ELV/electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Basic understanding of networking, IP devices, connectivity, and low-voltage power systems is preferred.
• Experience working on commercial, residential, hospitality, retail, or large-scale infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Qatar or GCC experience is preferred.
• Valid Qatar driving license is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in the field while coordinating effectively with the wider technical and operations teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or outside standard working hours when required for emergency breakdowns, maintenance, or site go-live activities.

Compensation
