Embedded Hardware Engineer
Seoul Gangnam·Full-time
About The Role FRIDAY is Holiday's first industrial humanoid, designed to take on repetitive, physically demanding work. It works alongside people, so safety is a requirement we design for from the start - and verify.
You design the circuits and PCBs of the functional safety controller board, and build the functions that detect a fault and bring the robot to a safe state. From board development and verification through production, you make sure the circuits you design turn into a robot that behaves safely.
Key Areas
Functional safety implementationMCU-based circuit designPCB developmentFault detection & diagnosticsProduction & certification
What You'll Do
- Design the circuits and PCBs of the controller board that implements the robot's functional safety.
- Build the circuits for emergency stop, fault detection, and transition to a safe state.
- Run board fabrication, bring-up, and debugging, and verify the safety functions.
- Take the board into production and through certification, and feed what you learn back into the design.
Required Qualifications
- Experience designing MCU-based embedded circuits and developing boards.
- Solid understanding of digital, analog, and power circuits.
- Hands-on experience with component selection, schematic and PCB design, and debugging.
- Ability to verify hardware and solve problems with lab instruments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing and implementing circuits for production products with functional safety.
- Experience with requirements analysis, verification, or certification against functional safety standards.
- Experience developing MCU firmware.
- Experience developing robots, motor drives, or industrial controllers.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation based on experience, level, and technical impact.
- The tools, instruments, and lab support needed to do your best work.
- The opportunity to take circuit design through production and safety verification on a humanoid that ships.
- Close collaboration with engineers across mechanical, firmware, control, production, and certification.
