Job DescriptionPosition: Embedded Manual Engineer – Motor ControlMust Requirement

• Ready to work from Pune Kalyani Nagar Office of LTTS only.
• Ready to work from office only (No Work from Home).

Preferred

• Ready to relocate within or approximately 20 km from Pune Kalyani Nagar Office to avoid daily travelling challenges.

Consideration

• Urgency and emergencies are expected rarely and not daily.

Key Responsibilities1. Embedded System Testing

• Develop and execute manual test cases for embedded firmware and control software.

• Perform black-box and gray-box testing for motor control applications.

• Validate firmware on embedded targets (MCU/DSP-based systems).

• Analyze requirements and define:

  • Test strategy
  • Test scenarios
  • Coverage metrics

2. Motor Control Validation

• Test control algorithms for:

  • BLDC motors
  • PMSM motors
  • Induction motors

• Validate Field-Oriented Control (FOC), including:

  • Speed control loops
  • Torque control loops
  • Position control loops

• Validate system performance under:

  • Different loads and operating conditions
  • Voltage variations
  • Temperature variations
  • Environmental variations

• Verify:

  • Motor start-up
  • Motor shutdown
  • Fault handling
  • Safety features

3. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) & Bench Testing

• Conduct testing using:

  • Oscilloscopes
  • Logic analyzers
  • Power analyzers
  • Motor dyno setups
  • Test benches

• Perform hardware-software integration testing.

• Support HIL/MIL/SIL validation setups, if applicable.

4. Defect Management & Debugging

• Identify, log, and track defects using tools such as JIRA/ALM.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with development teams.

• Analyze:

  • Logs
  • Signals
  • Waveforms

• Debug and investigate issues in collaboration with development teams.

5. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with standards such as:

  • IEC
  • ISO
  • Automotive SPICE, if applicable

• Maintain:

  • Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
  • Test documentation

• Support audits and customer quality reviews.

6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction

• Work closely with:

  • Embedded developers
  • Control algorithm engineers
  • Hardware teams

• Participate in:

  • Client discussions
  • Status reviews
  • Test reporting

Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

• Strong understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers, including:

  • ARM
  • TI C2000
  • etc.

• Experience in manual testing of embedded firmware.

• Deep knowledge of:

  • Motor control systems
  • Power electronics
  • PWM
  • ADC
  • Feedback systems
  • Encoders
  • Hall sensors

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Oscilloscope
  • Multimeter
  • Other lab instruments

• Understanding of communication protocols:

  • UART
  • SPI
  • I2C
  • CAN

Testing Expertise

• Strong in test case design and execution.

• Experience in:

  • Functional testing
  • System integration testing
  • Regression testing

• Exposure to test automation frameworks such as Python/PyTest is an added advantage.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and debugging skills.
• Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
• Effective communication with cross-functional teams and clients.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink (Model-Based Design/Testing).

• Knowledge of AUTOSAR / Functional Safety (ISO 26262) for automotive domain.

• Experience in:

• Exposure to:

  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Test automation tools

Education

Bachelor's / Master's degree in:

• Electronics Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Instrumentation Engineering
• Related Engineering fields
