Embedded Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the design, development, and testing of reference application processor firmware.
• Develop, test, and debug low-level software across various platforms, including software models, development boards, and production systems.
• Create software stacks for Arm's reference platforms targeting future Arm-based devices.
• Develop and maintain test code.
• Build automation solutions to streamline development and testing activities.
• Analyze industry specifications and roadmap requirements, break down tasks, and contribute to project planning and execution.
• Support software upstreaming activities and ongoing maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills, with the ability to implement new functionality, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.
• Knowledge of assembly programming and strong debugging skills is preferred.
• Experience in software development and/or software testing.
• Strong understanding of system architecture (preferably Arm architecture), operating system fundamentals, bootloaders, and device drivers.
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems; driver development experience is preferred.
• Good understanding of testing methodologies, CI/CD practices, and test automation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal English proficiency.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python programming and shell scripting.
• Basic understanding of the Linux kernel, system software, device drivers, and Android internals.
• Familiarity with open-source development processes and contribution workflows.
• Experience with software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization.
• Firmware verification and validation experience.
• Knowledge of software testing techniques, CI pipelines, and automated test frameworks.
• Experience with Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices.
• Familiarity with Agile and other software development methodologies.
