Embedded System Test Engineer - Motor Control Validation

Role & responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and document manual test cases for embedded firmware and control software.
• Validate motor control algorithms for BLDC, PMSM, and Induction Motors.
• Test and analyze FOC (Field-Oriented Control), speed control, torque control, and position control loops.
• Perform system-level testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, and motor dynamometer setups.
• Support HIL, MIL, and SIL validation activities.
• Verify communication interfaces including CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams for issue resolution.
• Prepare detailed test reports, validation documents, and customer deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers for product validation and quality improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of Embedded Systems Testing.
• Experience with Motor Control Systems and Power Electronics.
• Hands-on experience with BLDC, PMSM, and Induction Motors.
• Familiarity with FOC (Field-Oriented Control) algorithms.
• Experience with ARM, TI C2000 or similar microcontrollers.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments:
• Oscilloscope
• Multimeter
• Logic Analyzer
• Power Analyzer
• Knowledge of communication protocols:
• CAN
• UART
• SPI
• I2C
• Strong debugging, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
