We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Embedded Tester to join an automotive project team near Trnava, Slovakia. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working directly with hardware, vehicles, and ECUs, not just software testing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and debugging embedded automotive systems, analyzing communication between vehicle components, and investigating issues at both the hardware and software levels. The role requires a proactive engineer who can work independently, perform root-cause analysis, and drive testing activities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute validation and testing activities for embedded automotive systems.
• Perform debugging directly on vehicles and test benches.
• Connect to and diagnose issues on ECUs (Electronic Control Units).
• Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot communication between vehicle modules.
• Work with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and CAN FD.
• Investigate system behavior using diagnostic and debugging tools.
• Analyze logs, traces, and test results to identify root causes of failures.
• Create and execute test cases based on system requirements and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with development, integration, and validation teams to resolve issues.
• Report defects and track them through resolution.
• Support vehicle testing activities and software integration phases.

Requirements:

• Experience in embedded testing within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of ECUs and vehicle electronic architectures.

Practical experience with automotive communication protocols:

• CAN
• CAN FD
• LIN
• Automotive Ethernet
• Experience using diagnostic and communication analysis tools (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer, Wireshark, Vehicle Spy or similar).
• Ability to debug issues directly on hardware and vehicles.
• Experience reading technical documentation, specifications, and communication matrices.
• Knowledge of automotive diagnostics (UDS, DoIP is a plus).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities.
• Good communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture.
• Experience with scripting and test automation (Python, CAPL, or similar).
• Familiarity with Vector toolchain.
• Experience in software flashing and vehicle integration activities.
