Embossing Machine Operator

Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor or Lead Operator, the embosser is responsible for set up and operation of an Embossing Calendar Machine and auxiliary equipment including machine adjustments, operator preventative maintenance, quality control, maintaining accurate records.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work from shop orders and verbal instructions to determine length, width, gauge, core size, and film type.
• Optimal starting and adapting of the machine and periphery units
• Clean rollers and machine parts associated with Embossing Calendar Machine
• Weigh and record scrap and maintain accurate reports regarding scrap
• Operate all load handling equipment associated with the operation of the machine and computer entry of same
• Accurately complete production reports and logs
• Insure accurate inventory control through detailed reporting
• Performs all quality checks and complete neatly and accurately all associated forms
• Monitor all operations to assure continuity of Quality, Production with minimum downtime
• Assist Supervisor in training, planning, scheduling, directing and coordinating activities of Production Personnel
• Check broken, damaged or equipment not working properly with Supervisor before completing a Maintenance request form
• Assure that work area meets plant hygiene and housekeeping standards
• Perform all duties of Level 1 and Level 2

• Good demonstrated understanding of quality standards and procedures

• Use forklift and other material handling equipment in the movement of materials

• Report unusual conditions or circumstances to supervisor

• Perform assignments in the conformance with health and safety requirements

• Assure Operators perform assignments in conformance with health & safety requirements

• Perform other related duties as required or directed
