Experienced Embroidery Machine Operator

Location: Kenilworth, Cape Town

African Praise is looking for a skilled, reliable and enthusiastic Embroidery Machine Operator to join our production team. If you have a keen eye for detail, take pride in your work and have experience operating industrial embroidery machines, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) Math pass is essential.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating industrial embroidery machines, preferably Happy machines.
• Experience threading machines, loading designs and understanding machine settings and functions.
• Ability to cut fabric accurately to size.
• Strong understanding of embroidery workflows and job scheduling.
• Excellent attention to detail, neatness and consistent quality.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good troubleshooting skills, including resolving thread breaks, tension issues and machine errors.
• Ability to maintain an organised filing system for embroidery and digitising files.
• Basic embroidery machine maintenance knowledge is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up machines and prepare materials for embroidery jobs.
• Load designs and ensure embroidery is completed according to specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot machine and stitching problems.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace.
• Track completed jobs and help ensure production deadlines are met.
• Work with the design and digitising team to achieve the best results.
• Conduct quality checks before completed items are packaged.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
On-site position in the Claremont/Kenilworth industrial area, Cape Town.
