Position Summary
As an Embroidery Machine Operator at Bates Embroidery, you will help bring our customers’ designs to life by operating commercial embroidery machines to personalize and decorate uniforms, jackets, hats, bags and other apparel. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Your work will help ensure our garments meet the quality standards and expectations of the customers we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate commercial embroidery machines to embroider designs on uniforms, jackets, and other garments.
• Prepare garments and materials for embroidery, ensuring proper placement and alignment of designs.
• Thread machines, load embroidery designs, and adjust machine settings as needed.
• Monitor embroidery machines during production to ensure designs are stitched correctly and meet quality standards.
• Inspect finished garments for stitching errors, thread issues, placement problems, and other defects.
• Make adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting to keep machines running efficiently.
• Follow production schedules and prioritize orders to meet deadlines.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Handle garments carefully to prevent damage during the embroidery process.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous embroidery machine experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new processes quickly.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to identify stitching errors, fabric issues, and embroidery placement problems.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions in English.
• Ability to see and differentiate colors to ensure accurate thread selection and quality inspection.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellent attendance.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
