Job Summary
The Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-Basic) plays a vital role in providing pre-hospital emergency medical care to patients in need. This position involves responding to emergency calls, assessing patient conditions, and delivering essential life-saving interventions. The EMT-Basic works closely with other emergency personnel to ensure prompt and effective treatment while maintaining safety and professionalism at all times. This role requires a compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Duties

• Respond promptly to patient emergency needs under the direction of the unit nurse
• Perform patient assessments to evaluate medical conditions and determine necessary interventions.
• Provide basic life support including airway management, bleeding control, and immobilization of injuries.
• Document patient care reports accurately and thoroughly for legal and medical purposes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, bystanders, and healthcare team members to relay vital information.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of medical equipment and supplies.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure personal safety and that of patients.

Experience

• Prior experience in emergency medical services or related healthcare fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided.
• Strong patient assessment skills are essential for this role.
• Ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations and make quick decisions is critical.
• Good communication skills and a compassionate approach are necessary for effective patient care.
• Valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic from an accredited program is required or must be obtained prior to employment.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 40.0 per week
