Emergency Medical Technician

Purpose Statement Provide first-line medical or emergency care for sick or injured patients.

Essential Functions

• Accurately obtain and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure.
• Use emergency skills and knowledge to assess a patient’s cardiac and respiratory status or manage and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with the completion of patient biopsychosocial assessment, including assisting with admission and discharge of patients.
• Monitor physical and emotional well-being of patients and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to appropriate staff.
• Prepare and maintain records of progress and services performed.
• Give medications, following instructions from physicians, other prescribing medical professionals or where approved by state law or regulations for EMTs.
• Collaborate with other staff in working with the population of the facility to treat, rehabilitate and return patients to the community.
• Comply with organizational policies, procedures, performance improvement initiatives and maintain organizational and industry policies regarding confidentiality.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional education or training which results in certification or licensure as an EMT per state requirements required.
• Previous experience in behavioral health setting, as well as knowledge and experience working with the population of the facility, preferred.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) licensure, per state requirements.
• CPR, de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Compensation Compensation for roles at THE CAMP RECOVERY CENTER varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, THE CAMP RECOVERY CENTER provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

Role Location : CALIFORNIA Calculated Hourly Range for role EMT State - California : $25.00 - $26.00 per hour plus $3.00 overnight differential
