Duties

• Respond promptly to emergency calls, providing essential pre-hospital medical care to patients across diverse settings.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely on city streets and highways, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and trauma evaluations to determine the severity of injuries or illnesses.
• Manage airway emergencies using advanced airway management techniques and equipment to ensure proper breathing for critically ill or injured patients.
• Administer medications via injection or other methods as prescribed, following strict aseptic techniques and medical protocols.
• Perform critical care procedures such as venipuncture, cardiovascular emergency response, neonatal resuscitation, and trauma medicine interventions.
• Collaborate with incident command teams during multi-casualty incidents or complex emergencies to coordinate effective response efforts.
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient care, vital signs, incident reports, and transport logs with accuracy and professionalism.
• Ensure all medical equipment is operational, sterile, and ready for immediate use; operate complex medical devices efficiently under pressure.
• Provide compassionate patient care during transport to hospitals or trauma centers—especially Level I Trauma Centers or Level II facilities—ensuring comfort and safety throughout.

Qualifications

• Valid EMT certification with experience in emergency medicine; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Emergency Care (PEC), and Neonatal Resuscitation are highly desirable.
• Proven experience in hospital settings or emergency room environments; critical care transport experience is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, trauma care principles, and aseptic techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations accurately.
• Experience operating medical equipment including DME (Durable Medical Equipment), cardiac monitors, ventilators, and other life-saving devices.
• Skilled in incident command procedures during emergencies involving multiple casualties or complex scenarios.
• Ability to navigate city streets efficiently while maintaining safety standards; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking; capable of performing physically demanding tasks under stressful conditions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and compassionate patient interactions during high-pressure situations.
