Job Overview

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will play a crucial role in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. You will work in various settings, including hospitals, urgent care facilities, and emergency rooms, often responding to critical incidents and ensuring that patients receive the necessary treatment during transport. Your expertise in emergency medicine and ability to perform under pressure will be essential in this fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assess patients' conditions through physical examinations and vital sign checks.
• Administer basic life support and advanced life support as required.
• Provide emergency medical care, including administering injections and managing trauma cases.
• Transport patients safely to hospitals or trauma centers, ensuring continuous monitoring of their condition.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
• Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments provided, and any changes in condition.
• Participate in training and continuing education programs to stay current with emergency medical practices.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assess and treat patients.
• Proficiency in performing physical examinations to identify medical issues quickly.
• Experience working in high-stress environments such as hospitals, urgent care facilities, or level II trauma centers.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment or patients as required during emergencies.
• Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and procedures.
• Experience administering injections and other medications safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
