What they need
Job Overview:
DSRI Labs (Defense Systems Research Institute), Hyderabad is seeking an experienced and rigorous EMI/EMC Test Engineer specializing in defense systems. In this role, you will lead the execution, validation, and documentation of electromagnetic compatibility testing strictly in compliance with MIL-STD-461 (F/G). You will ensure that critical defense electronics, subsystems, and military-grade hardware operate flawlessly in harsh electromagnetic environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently set up, calibrate, and execute EMI/EMC testing covering RE, CE, RS, and CS methods as per MIL-STD-461 guidelines.
- Operate advanced defense-grade RF test setups, including military-spec antennas, EMI receivers, high-power RF amplifiers, and bulk current injection (BCI) probes inside Anechoic/Shielded chambers.
- Analyze test failures, isolate electromagnetic noise sources down to the component or subsystem level, and provide military-grade mitigation solutions (shielding, gaskets, filtering, ruggedized grounding).
- Draft comprehensive Qualification Test Plans (QTP), Qualification Test Procedures (QTP), and Qualification Test Reports (QTR) required for defense clearances.
- Collaborate with design engineers to review hardware layouts and enclosure designs for compliance prior to testing.
Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with MIL-STD-461 (F or G editions) testing protocols.
- Deep understanding of military qualification processes, RF engineering, and electromagnetic shielding principles.
- Proficiency with test equipment like Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, and Network Analyzers.
- Experience with automated EMC testing software (e.g., EMC32, TILE!) tailored for military profiles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of related military standards like MIL-STD-810 (Environmental) or MIL-STD-704 (Aircraft Power) is a major plus.
