Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Lawyer to join a well renowned Employment Litigation team. You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team while having genuine responsibility for progressing your own matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of Employment Tribunal claims and workplace disputes from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Advise clients on legal and commercial risks, developing appropriate strategies to protect their interests and resolve disputes effectively.
  • Draft and review ET3 responses, witness statements, applications, chronologies, schedules of loss and other litigation documentation.
  • Prepare for and attend Case Management Hearings, preliminary hearings and other Tribunal hearings as required.
  • Work alongside counsel and colleagues on more complex cases and matters proceeding to final hearings.
  • Coordinate hearing preparation, including Tribunal bundles, procedural deadlines and compliance with Tribunal orders.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional legal support and strategic advice to existing clients.
  • Contribute to business development and the achievement of team and individual financial objectives.
  • Keep up to date with developments in employment legislation, Employment Tribunal decisions and emerging workplace issues.
  • Prepare clear and accessible updates for clients on relevant developments in employment law and workplace practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure matters are progressed efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Barrister.
  • Have experience in employment law and/or Employment Tribunal litigation.
  • Have experience drafting Employment Tribunal pleadings, witness statements and related litigation documents.
  • Be confident managing their own caseload and advising clients directly.
  • Have advocacy experience, or a genuine interest in developing their advocacy skills.
  • Be able to communicate legal advice clearly and translate complex legal issues into practical, commercially focused solutions.
  • Possess excellent drafting, organisational and case management skills.
  • Demonstrate strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • Be proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
  • Have a genuine interest in developing their legal practice and contributing to the wider success of the team.
