EMS Responder

JOB SUMMARY

EMS Responder is responsible for ensuring timely and appropriate emergency medical care to employees, guests, and visitors of the company. This is achieved by providing basic and intermediate life support, assisting with patient assessments, and coordinating EMS services, all conducted within established protocols and under the supervision of the EMS Duty Officer, to preserve life, prevent further injury, and promote recovery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Emergency Medical Response and Patient Care

• Provide basic and intermediate life support (BLS/ACLS) according to established protocols, delivering immediate care to patients in emergency situations.
• Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and appropriate interventions, to accurately determine the nature and extent of the emergency.
• Ensure the safe transport of patients to medical facilities, providing continuous monitoring and care during transit.

Emergency Response Operations and Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure that all emergency medical equipment and ambulances are thoroughly cleaned, fully stocked with necessary supplies, and in optimal working order, conducting regular inspections and maintenance to guarantee preparedness for immediate and effective emergency response.
• Assist with tasks related to the support and maintenance of disaster preparedness plans, including participating in drills, to enhance the organization's readiness for large-scale incidents.
• Respond to assigned deployments for routine and special events, providing on-site medical coverage and ensuring timely and appropriate medical intervention, while maintaining a professional demeanor and representing the organization positively.

Training and Professional Development

• Attend and participate in required EMS training and continuing education programs to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
• Maintain current certifications and licenses to ensure compliance with regulations, demonstrate professional competence.

Documentation and Reporting Assistance

• Assist in the accurate and timely documentation of patient care information, including patient demographics, medical history, chief complaints, symptoms, and vital signs, and transport details, ensuring comprehensive and reliable records for continuity of care and accurate data analysis.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or unusual occurrences to supervisors promptly and accurately, providing detailed descriptions and contributing to a safe operational environment and effective risk management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Nursing (BSN) or any health-related field.
• At least one (1) year relevant experience in the field of Emergency Medical Services
• Knowledgeable on Basic and Advanced Life Support and EMS system
