What they need

Standard Job Description

We are seeking a high‑energy Technical Team Lead to take charge of an existing, mid‑stage test‑system development effort and lead a focused team of 2-4 engineers through the remaining design, integration, prototyping, EMI qualification, and verification phases.

Requirements are not fully defined; the lead will drive the implementation of RF, software (LabVIEW-based or text-based), and hardware architectures, manage rapid hardware‑software prototyping, and ensure rigorous verification against system‑level test specifications.

In addition to overseeing configuration control and continuous‑integration processes, the role requires frequent briefings and presentations to senior leadership and the U.S. Government customer.

This fast‑paced, high‑visibility assignment offers significant growth potential for a self‑motivated technical leader.

Basic Qualifications

  • STEM degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven team‑lead experience managing cross‑functional technical projects OR
  • Development expertise in software (Python, C/C++, C#, LabVIEW) or hardware engineering.
  • Proven experience in hardware/software integration of complex systems.
  • High‑energy, self‑motivated; driven to deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication and mentorship skills to inspire and guide junior engineers.

Desired Skills

  • Mastery of two or more languages such as C++, C#, and Python, with solid hands‑on experience applying object‑oriented design patterns.
  • Expert in test‑system hardware design and configuration management, including managing redline updates, version‑controlled schematics, and bill‑of‑materials control to ensure rapid, reliable hardware evolution.
  • Deep familiarity with the full requirements‑management lifecycle; from capturing test requirements for complex systems, through automated‑test equipment specs, to rigorous configuration control.
  • Proven expertise using Cameo (or equivalent) for requirements authoring, traceability, and change management.
  • Skilled at creating detailed test‑system specifications and engineering test plans for complex systems.
  • Strong background in test‑automation frameworks (e.g., pytest, GoogleTest, LabVIEW TestStand) and CI/CD pipelines for continuous verification.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software (NI HW, COTS HW) to build end‑to‑end test systems that meet performance and safety margins.
