What they need

Are you a people person who enjoys helping someone get the most out of their day?

Do you have a caring, positive and encouraging nature — but perhaps don’t have previous experience working in care?

That’s absolutely fine.

We’re looking for a female Enablement Support Worker to support one woman in her own home in Wooler. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference while supporting another person to remain independent, active and in control of their own life.

What is an Enablement Support Worker?

Enablement is about supporting, not taking over.

You’ll be there to encourage and enable the person you support to do the things that are important to her — whether that’s getting out into the community, enjoying hobbies and activities, managing things around the home, or simply having some company and encouragement throughout the day.

Every day can be different, and that’s what makes this role so rewarding.

You’ll work alongside the person you support, helping her build confidence, maintain her independence and enjoy life in the way she chooses.

The role

We’re looking for someone to provide approximately 4 hours of support each day, ideally between 10am and 2pm.

There is some flexibility around the hours, so this could be a great opportunity for someone looking for part-time work that fits around other commitments.

Your role may include:

  • Providing companionship and conversation
  • Supporting independence within the home
  • Encouraging and supporting community activities and outings
  • Helping with everyday tasks where support is needed
  • Supporting hobbies, interests and activities
  • Encouraging confidence and independence
  • Being a positive, reliable and friendly presence

This is not about doing everything for someone — it’s about helping them to do more for themselves.

You don’t need previous care experience

This is really important.

You don’t need to have worked in healthcare or social care before.

We’re much more interested in who you are and the qualities you bring.

You might already have experience caring for a family member, supporting someone in your community, working with people, or simply be someone who is naturally patient, kind, encouraging and dependable.

If you’re a good listener, have a positive attitude and genuinely want to help someone live life on their own terms, we’d love to hear from you.

Full training and support will be provided.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Kind, patient and compassionate
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Positive and encouraging
  • Respectful of another person’s choices and independence
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Happy to support someone both at home and within the community

A full driving licence would be beneficial/required where community access involves driving.

You will also need to be able to complete our standard pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check, right-to-work checks and employment/character referencing.

Why join us?

At Time to Care, we believe care should be about more than simply meeting someone's needs.

It’s about helping people live the life they want, in the place they call home, with the right support around them.

If you’re looking for a part-time role where you can genuinely get to know the person you support and make a difference to their everyday life, this could be the opportunity for you.

Interested?

If you think you could be the right person for this role, we’d love to hear from you.

You don’t need to have all the experience — sometimes the most important thing you can bring is the right attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference.
