Enabling Support Worker

We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Bank Enabling Support Worker to join Citrus Care — a fresh, growing Devon-based enabling and community support provider, proudly contracted with Devon County Council. You'll help adults build independence, confidence and connection in their own homes and communities — supporting people to do things for themselves, not doing things for them. This is a genuinely rewarding role for someone who wants to make a real difference through patient, person-centred support.

How bank work with us operates:

As a bank worker, you're not tied to a fixed rota. When we take on a new client package, we'll offer you shifts that match your availability and location — you choose which to accept. Hours vary week to week depending on the packages we have running, so this suits people wanting flexibility rather than a fixed weekly commitment. The more availability you have, the more shifts we're able to offer you.

Duties:

• Support clients with daily routines, structure and building confidence in their own homes
• Support with community access — accompanying clients to appointments, activities, shopping, and social/leisure opportunities
• Support with daily living skills — meal planning and preparation, household tasks, budgeting, and personal administration
• Medication prompting where agreed in the client's support plan (we do not administer medication)
• Support building travel confidence and community safety awareness
• Deliver a non-directive, strengths-based approach — working alongside clients to build their independence, not taking over tasks for them
• Maintain accurate, factual daily support notes after every visit
• Follow each client's individual risk assessment and support plan
• Report any concerns, incidents or safeguarding matters immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

What we're looking for:

• Experience supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs, dementia, acquired brain injury or similar — enabling, support work, or care backgrounds all welcome
• A patient, encouraging, strengths-based approach — someone who builds people up rather than doing things for them
• Good communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to each person's needs
• DBS check with Adults' Barred List (we'll support this if not already in place)
• Reliable transport and a full driving licence, as visits are across Devon
• First aid certification desirable but not essential — training will be provided
