About the Role

We are looking for an IT Support Engineer / Desktop Engineer to provide on-site technical support for end-user systems, network infrastructure, and IT assets. The candidate will work to ensure smooth IT operations, system performance, and timely issue resolution.

Responsibilities

End-User Support System Maintenance

• Provide L1/L2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows/Linux) and business applications

• Handle user issues related to login/access, email (Outlook/Microsoft 365), and software installations

• Monitor and check system performance; assist end users in resolving performance-related issues

• Install, upgrade, and configure workstations as per company standards

• Set up and maintain peripherals such as printers, scanners, and biometric devices

• Ensure all systems are properly configured, secured, and compliant with organizational policies

Troubleshooting Technical Support

• Provide support for hardware, software, and network-related issues (L2 level, escalating when required)

• Diagnose and resolve LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity and network performance issues

• Perform basic checks and troubleshooting on routers, switches, and firewalls

• Creation of Rules in Firewalls to Allow and Deny traffic

• Troubleshooting of network port and IP accessibility issue

• Coordinate with ISPs and external vendors for network and internet-related issues

Hardware Support

• Diagnose hardware faults including RAM, HDD/SSD, and other components

• Perform desktop and laptop hardware upgrades and replacements

• Ensure all IT equipment is maintained in good working condition

Asset Management Compliance

• Track and maintain IT asset inventory (hardware and software)

• Manage software licenses and ensure compliance

• Ensure systems are updated with patches, antivirus, and security configurations

• Follow company IT policies, standards, and security guidelines

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems

• Basic to intermediate understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

• Hands-on experience in desktop/laptop troubleshooting and hardware support

• Ability to diagnose and resolve system performance issues

• Good communication and coordination skills
