Role & responsibilities

• Room and Equipment Preparation: Set up procedure rooms, check that all instruments function properly, and stock necessary medical supplies. [1, 2]
• Reprocessing and Sterilization: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and accessories according to strict manufacturer and infection control guidelines. [1, 2]
• Procedure Support: Assist gastroenterologists and nurses inside the room by handing tools, managing specimens (biopsies), and helping with patient positioning. [1, 2]
• Patient Care and Monitoring: Reassure nervous patients, help transport them, and monitor their vital signs and comfort during and after the procedure. [1, 2, 3]
• Documentation: Record accurate patient data, vital signs, and equipment maintenance logs. [1]
