Endoscopy Technician - Full Time

The Endoscopy technician will work with the registered nurses and is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the patient by practicing proper aseptic technique and using a good working knowledge of the procedure by anticipating the Endoscopist's needs in performing the procedure.

Responsibilities include:

• Assists the physician with endoscopic procedures
• Assists with ensuring the center is properly prepared for the daily schedule
• Sterilization of equipment and high-level disinfection
• Cleaning the surgical suite between cases
• Opening of sterile packs, instruments, and supplies. Ensuring a clean environment is maintained throughout the procedure.
• Preparing for the set-up of all procedure cases.
• Ensuring surgeon identifies and describes surgical specimen prior to its placement in the specimen jar.
• Reporting and troubleshooting of all broken or defective supplies or equipment.
• Checking and restocking the center.
• Operates and maintain documentation for Medivator + Autoclave
• Assesses the condition of all equipment, instruments, and accessories on a daily basis and reports any irregularities to the Nurse Manager.
• Coordinates rooms and scopes according to daily schedule.
• Properly disposes of contaminated waste following Standard Precautions and OSHA regulations.
• Takes an active role for identifying issues for quality improvement.

MUST have BLS certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Experience:

• GI scope reprocessing: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Riverdale, MD 20737: Relocate before starting work (Required)
