ENERGY MARSHAL

·          Supervise and monitor electrical safety activities and energy-related work at the project site.

·          Ensure all electrical and energy-related activities are carried out in compliance with relevant safety requirements, regulations and company procedures.

·          Monitor and control electrical energy sources, including ensuring proper isolation and de-energisation before work begins.

·          Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are properly implemented and followed by workers and contractors.

·          Verify that equipment, systems and electrical circuits are safely isolated before maintenance, testing, commissioning or other work activities.

·          Conduct regular site inspections to identify electrical hazards, unsafe practices and potential energy-related risks.

·          Monitor electrical work activities involving energised or potentially energised equipment and ensure appropriate safety controls are in place.

·          Ensure workers and contractors comply with approved method statements, risk assessments, permit-to-work requirements and energy isolation procedures.

·          Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, Electrical Team, Safety Team, contractors and other relevant parties on energy and electrical safety matters.

·          Ensure proper barricading, warning signs, access control and safety precautions are provided around electrical and energy-related work areas.

·          Assist in conducting toolbox meetings, safety briefings and energy-related safety inductions for workers and site personnel.

·          Monitor the proper use of PPE and electrical safety equipment during work activities.

·          Maintain and monitor records related to energy isolation, LOTO, permits, inspections and other relevant safety documentation.

·          Report unsafe conditions, electrical hazards, incidents and near misses, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

·          Ensure emergency response procedures for electrical and energy-related incidents are properly implemented and understood by relevant personnel.

·          Carry out any other energy safety-related duties assigned by the management.

Requirements

·          Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Occupational Safety and Health or a related field will be an advantage.

·          3–5 years of working experience in electrical, energy management, construction or related field is preferred.

·          Experience in electrical construction, substations, power plants or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.

·          Experience in substation projects is an added advantage.

·          Good knowledge of electrical safety practices, energy isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

·          Knowledge of Permit-to-Work (PTW), risk assessment and safe work procedures.

·          Ability to identify electrical and energy-related hazards and implement appropriate control measures.

·          Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills.

·          Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

·          Good documentation, reporting and organizational skills.

·          Good communication and writing skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.

·          Willing to travel to project sites within other states in Malaysia.

·          Preferable candidate able to start work immediately / within short notice.
