What they need

Help create a place where tauira Māori feel connected, supported and empowered to thrive.

If you are someone who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities for others, and making an impact, this could be just the role you have been waiting for.

Our client is seeking a passionate Kaiakiaki Māori Engagement Adviser to become a trusted advocate and champion for tauira Māori. You will be a friendly face, a connector, and someone who helps students feel they belong from day one through to graduation.

No two days will be the same. One day you could be supporting a student to navigate Tertiary Education life, the next you are bringing people together through an inspiring event, workshop or whakawhanaungatanga opportunity. You will work alongside academic staff, whānau and the wider tertiary community to create an environment where Māori students can succeed academically, culturally and personally.

About the role:

  • Building meaningful relationships with tauira Māori and providing culturally responsive support.
  • Creating and delivering engaging events, workshops and initiatives that foster connection and student success.
  • Connecting students with the right people, services and opportunities throughout their study journey.
  • Working collaboratively with academic staff and internal teams to advocate for positive outcomes.
  • Embedding tikanga Māori into your everyday practice while contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting Māori success and empowering others.
  • Naturally builds trust and meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life.
  • Has experience providing guidance, mentoring, pastoral care, engagement or student support.
  • Is highly organised and enjoys juggling a variety of priorities.
  • Has a sound understanding of tikanga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with the confidence to apply these in a professional setting.
  • Brings positive energy, initiative and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.

Why you will love this role:

  • Make a genuine difference in the lives of tauira Māori.
  • Join a passionate and supportive team who care deeply about their kaupapa.
  • Enjoy a role with plenty of variety, autonomy and meaningful relationship building.
  • Be part of an organisation committed to equity, inclusion and creating positive outcomes for future generations.

If you are looking for more than "just another job" and want to be part of something that truly matters, we would love to hear from you.

Other offers great for you!
