What they need
Engagement Manager (Growth Accounts)
Industry: Tech Consultancy
Location Hybrid, UK Wide (London and Manchester offices) , must be flexible to travel on occasion.
Salary: up to £150,000 + Benefits
We're working with a brilliant tech consultancy built around a network of genuinely talented, highly experienced software consultants who specialise in agile software delivery. Their whole model is about taking the risk out of delivery by only trusting the very best people, forming cross functional teams and working alongside their customers every step of the way. They lead by example, they ground everything in delivering real, concrete value, and they help some of the UK's largest organisations through their digital transformation.
It's a business with a real reputation for doing things properly, and a team who are as committed to their customers' success as they are to their own.
They're now hiring an Engagement Manager to look after their growth accounts. This is a crucial role. You'll be the person who builds trusted relationships with senior customer stakeholders, knows how to navigate a large and complex organisation, and has the instinct to make the right offer at the right time. It's about making sure every engagement turns into lasting, long term success.
The Role
You'll work with customers and hybrid teams who may be UK based or spread across the globe. You'll be part strategic advisor, part delivery leader and part relationship builder, owning the health, growth and profitability of your accounts. Specifically, you'll be:
Shaping strategy
- Working with customers to develop, iterate and implement their digital and technology strategy so it lines up with their wider business goals
- Analysing data and market trends to inform the customer's strategic decision making
- Knowing when to draw on the deep knowledge and experience across the wider consultancy to support the customer's strategy
Leading engagements and delivery
- Making sure delivery is consistent, cohesive and true to the values the business is built on
- Monitoring progress across engagements and working with the customer and the delivery team to spot dependencies and roadblocks early and propose solutions
- Talking credibly not just about the work in play, but about future challenges and opportunities, so the relationship keeps growing
- Owning profitability and performance against agreed financial targets
Growing the customer relationship
- Defining and rolling out the engagement strategy for your accounts, and making sure each one matures into a sustainable long term partnership
- Building trust with key stakeholders early, so the team is empowered to do things the way they believe is genuinely best for the customer
- Getting to know your customers properly, understanding what success looks like for them as individuals and for their organisation as a whole
- Working closely with the leadership team to drive successful customer outcomes
- Running regular account reviews with customers and wider stakeholders
- Seeking out references and case studies to support marketing and business development
- Using the business's events, collateral and customer network to nurture your own portfolio of current, future and former customers
Leading and supporting the team
- Working with the new business team on proposals and wider business development
- Partnering with the people team to manage staffing across your engagements
- Getting involved in the recruitment of new consultants
- Making sure the business meets the expectations of every consultant on your engagements
- Using your trusted customer relationships to help teams navigate and resolve blockers
- Leading regular, informal updates with your consultant teams
- Dealing quickly, effectively and collaboratively with any people matters that could affect the success of an engagement
Learning and sharing
- Working with fellow Engagement Managers and Sponsors to share experiences and continually sharpen how the business engages with customers
- Regularly sharing both successes and challenges with the wider business
- Encouraging consultants to present their work across the organisation
What You'll Bring
This is a senior role for someone who has done it before and done it well. You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a digital or technical consultancy
- A track record as a digital or transformational leader, with experience advising at executive level
- Proven experience in digital strategy and organisational transformation
- Strong programme management skills and the ability to run complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders
- A real gift for building relationships where interests and priorities compete inside large enterprise organisations
- Leadership that inspires and motivates, plus the communication skills to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary digital teams
- Strong analytical skills, using data to communicate outcomes and make informed decisions
- A deep understanding of emerging digital technologies and trends
- Strong financial skills and real commercial awareness
Why This One Stands Out
You'll be backed by a network of some of the most experienced delivery people in the industry, working with large organisations on transformation work that genuinely matters. The model is built on trust, so once you've earned it with your customers you'll have the freedom to do things the right way rather than the easy way. You'll own your accounts, shape their direction and have a real hand in how the business grows.
The Details
This is a full time permanent role paying £150,000 a year with a really strong benefits package on top. It's hybrid and can be based anywhere in the UK, with offices in London and Manchester. You'll need to be flexible to travel to customer sites and the offices as and when needed, but it's far from constant. They're keen to get the right person in and start as soon as possible.
If you're a consultancy leader who loves turning great relationships into long term partnerships and wants to own a portfolio of growth accounts, get in touch. We'd love to talk you through it.
At Inara Talent, we believe everyone deserves a fair chance to shine. We connect great people from all backgrounds with opportunities where they can thrive making sure hiring is fair, inclusive, and genuinely diverse. No matter your background, we focus on what matters: your talent.
