Engine Builder

We're looking for an experienced engine builder to join our automotive repair shop and fabrication business. This is hands-on work building engines right — clean, measured, and to spec.

What you'll do:

• Build, rebuild, and assemble stock and performance engines from teardown to final assembly
• Inspect, clean, and measure components, and check clearances and tolerances with micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision tools
• Follow torque specs and proper assembly procedures, and blueprint builds where needed
• Diagnose engine wear and failure and recommend the right repair or rebuild path
• Keep accurate notes on parts, measurements, and work performed on each build
• Coordinate with the rest of the shop on machining, parts, and timelines, and keep your work area clean and organized

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as an engine builder, with references or examples of your work
• Strong knowledge of engine fundamentals, tolerances, and proper assembly
• Your own basic tools, reliability, and pride in doing the job right the first time
• Experience with performance builds is a plus

$28–$34 per hour, based on experience. If you're an engine builder who takes pride in your work, we want to talk to you.
